Our bodies have the phenomenal innate ability to regenerate and heal.
For example, it is known that a liver cell needs six weeks to regenerate; skin cells need three or four weeks; the stomach line is renewed every four days; and eye cells replicate every two days.
One of the pioneers in understanding the field of cell biology and its role in healing is the world-renowned American endocrinologist Deepak Chopra.
He undertook a series of research on survivors of serious illness wondering what they had in common. Two factors emerged as crucially important – one in the field of mind-body medicine and one of a spiritual nature:
1. Access to cellular memory and healing of painful emotions that, being lived in silence, unexpressed, have been stored in the cells of the body;
2. Access to the Superconscious, the natural intelligence of the body that works 24 hours a day to keep us alive – the same infinite intelligence that works in our lives.
1. Access to cellular memory.
Deepak was concerned with the issue of cell division and asked himself the question: “If we have a completely new liver every six weeks, why is it that if a person has liver cancer in January, they still have the disease in June?” By then the liver should have regenerated. All his cells should be brand new.”
Deepak concluded that cells retain “ghost” memories that cause degenerative diseases in cells. These memories are passed on to new cells before the old, diseased cells die, allowing the disease to continue.
Deepak continues the explanation: “All diseases are the loss of memory of the whole at the cellular level. When a cell loses connection with the rest of the body, it begins to act randomly, causing chaos and destruction.”
2. Access to the infinite intelligence at work in our lives and bodies.
Dr. Chopra states that it is impossible to interrupt the memories stored in degenerated cells and replace them with new, healthy ones that replicate perfectly.
During his longitudinal study of survivors of serious illness, Deepak found that their common trait was that they were able to tap into “infinite intelligence“—the wisdom beyond our minds.
Deepak says, “At a fundamental level, our minds and bodies are pure spirit. In fact, each of us is a creation in spirit. So, at the base of any creation there is already a field of perfection at all levels. We are already perfectly healthy, perfectly happy, perfectly successful. The only problem is that we have forgotten this, so we live struggling and unfulfilling lives. Mind/body medicine focuses on restoring the memory of spirit in our lives. When our bodies awaken to spirit, we bring our inner healing mechanism back to life and activate our inner pharmacy to create and maintain perfect health.”
Deepak says: “These days it is possible to talk in medical terms and convince people that the life of molecules is very short. Ninety-eight percent of all the atoms in my body are gone after a year. This determines the unlimited possibility of healing the body naturally, from within.”
Deepak goes on to say, “Spiritual awareness is the only way healing can occur.”
